Controls & alerts
Every weight, threshold, decay constant, action trigger and alert rule is adjustable from the dashboard. Tune it for Redbrain’s actual loss patterns, save your version, share with the team. Watch what matters; alert who matters.
The scoring engine has fifteen knobs. Defaults are sensible, but every credit team has a different appetite. Tune them in the Settings page or via the Quick-tune drawer that opens from any view.
How quickly an old signal stops mattering. Lower means scores react faster; higher means they hold a longer memory.
How much extra weight Redbrain’s own data (DSO, late payments, term-change requests) gets over external signals.
Per-severity multipliers. Up-weight critical to make administration filings dominate; flatten to let many medium signals stack.
Where the four risk bands cut. Tighten in a downturn (more merchants in elevated) or relax in a benign cycle.
Score thresholds for each recommended action. Pause also requires exposure above a configurable floor (default £10,000).
When the DSO column in the finance table turns amber, when it turns red. Reflects what counts as “slipping” for Redbrain’s terms.
Star a merchant to add it to the watchlist. Apply named tags — Critical watch, Renewals due, PE-owned, New onboarding, On hold — to organise the book. Two of those tags trigger deeper data collection: extra Companies House polling cadence and wider press monitoring.
Daily-review merchants. Extra: Companies House polled every 2 hours instead of every 6, all 100 news sources monitored.
Contract renewals in the next 90 days. Surfaces score trend in the renewal conversation.
Different risk profile — LBO debt, sponsor-led restructuring patterns. Extra: enable filing-history deep scan + private-credit press feeds.
First six months. Tighter monitoring while behaviour patterns establish.
Paused or under credit review. Surfaces in commercial view so account managers know status.
Five default rules ship in the box, covering the most useful triggers. Add your own. Route any rule to any combination of recipients across all three channels.
| Rule | Trigger | Default cadence | Typical recipients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Critical score breach | Any merchant reaches score 80+ | immediate | Finance + credit + Slack + CFO |
| Score jump | Score rises 15+ points in 7 days | immediate | Credit + Slack |
| Overdue > £10k | Outstanding overdue balance crosses threshold | daily digest | Finance + credit |
| Critical-watch movement | Band change for any merchant tagged Critical watch | immediate | Slack + CFO |
| Daily portfolio digest | Summary of all band movements | daily digest | Leadership distribution list |
Transactional sender (Resend or SendGrid). Per-recipient or distribution list. HTML digest or single-event format.
Incoming-webhook URL per channel. Rich-text formatting with merchant name, score, link to drill-down.
Reserved for highest-priority (critical breaches). Per-recipient E.164 numbers. Plain text only.
Three small workflows that the controls enable, which the previous version didn’t.
Press the Tune button top-right or hit T. A right-side drawer slides in with the four most-tweaked sliders — half-life, internal boost, critical band, pause threshold. Adjust live; the scores re-rank as you drag.
On any list view, click the ★ next to a merchant. On the merchant page, apply tags — Critical watch moves them onto the Watchlist page and triggers extra data pulls. Set up an alert rule that pings Slack any time a Critical-watch merchant changes band.
Add your finance group’s email, your #risk Slack channel, your CFO’s mobile. Route the critical-breach rule to all three; route the daily digest to email only. Mute and unmute in one click.
